During Friday’s ‘Game of Thrones’ panel at Comic-Con, which you have to imagine was legendary to attend for any huge fan of the show, audience members were treated to a compilation of never before seen audition tapes of some of the HBO show’s biggest names.
Among those fans got to see featured on the audition reels are Gwendoline Christie (Brienne Tarth), Pedro Pascal (Oberyn Martell), Natalie Dormer (Margaery Tyrell), and a few more. The video was edited so that footage from auditions filmed on several different mediums is spliced together with the show’s actual scenes. The result is a pretty awesome and introspective look at how the ‘Game of Thrones’ cast works to transition their craft onto the big screen.
It’s hilarious seeing someone like Catrice van Houten – known for playing the dastardly and dark red priestess Melisandre – botching a line and cracking up over it saying, “I fucked up!” Just not something the normal fan is privy to all the time.
It’s not too often that fans of any genre get a peek into their favorite actors preparations, but when it happens, clearly it’s awesome.
