Dave Chappelle & Flight of the Conchords headline comedy tour

Oddballfest

Dave Chappelle has apparently popped up and been booed in enough cities that he’s ready to take on the nation again. He is set to co-headline the Dunny or Dies comedy tour, Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival.

The Oddball Comedy & Curiosity Festival will visit 13 American cities, playing outdoor arenas with capacities of around 20,000 in each. It is billed as a full festival experience featuring two stages, street performers, vendors and sideshows such as psychics and freaks, tasty treats and more. –Chortle

Now that’s what I’m talking about. I like TBS Just for Laughs as much as the next guy, but it’s mostly individual shows spread over the week. This is a one-day, action packed comedy extravaganza. Plus I’ve never been to a freak show, and I’m intrigued.

The other headliner is Flight of the Conchords, whom I’ve always thought were better on stage than they were on HBO. The show was great, but many of the songs are more funny out of context and not forced into a storyline.

This isn’t a three man show though. There are plenty of other acts, including my favorite asshole, Jim Jeffries. Others include drawing expert Demetri Martin, off-tempo aficionado Hannibal Buress, former SNL writer John Mulaney, Flight of the Conchords star Kristen Schaal, and Al Madrigal, Brody Steven and Chris D’Elia, for whom I don’t have adjectives.

Tickets will be on sale this Friday, June 21 at 10am (local time) at www.funnyordie.com/oddball
