‘Deadpool 2’ Was Just Confirmed, Here’s When It Will Likely Hit Theaters

Huge news today from 20th Century Fox, as it appears a sequel to the critically-acclaimed Deadpool is all but a sure thing.

Studio officials confirmed the fan rumors today at CinemaCon, and it doesn’t seem like we’ll have to wait too long to see Ryan Reynolds revive the red-suited superhero.

ComicBook.com got the scoop on the sequel’s release date:

The movie will see the return of director Tim Miller, writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, and of course, star Ryan Reynolds. As has been talked about since, literally, the end credits of Deadpool, Cable will join him for the sequel.

20th Century Fox previously announced that they reserved the dates of October 6, 2017 and January 12, 2018 for untitled Marvel films. Deadpool 2 will likely take one of those slots.

Oh hell yes! The first Deadpool grossed $757.3 million worldwide, making it the highest ever grossing R-rated film in history.
