A Fifth ‘Indiana Jones’ Has Been Announced And Yes, It Will Star A Young And Spry Harrison Ford

Disney has just announced that a fifth installment of Indiana Jones is official and will be directed by Steven Spielberg and star Harrison Ford, who will turn SEVENTY-SEVEN just days before the movie is set to open in July of 2019.

The expression on Shia LaBeouf’s face in the above photo perfectly sums up my reaction to this special news.

Anyway, here’s Disney chairman, Alan Horn:

“Indiana Jones is one of the greatest heroes in cinematic history, and we can’t wait to bring him back to the screen in 2019. It’s rare to have such a perfect combination of director, producers, actor and role, and we couldn’t be more excited to embark on this adventure with Harrison and Steven.”

Yes, Indiana Jones has been an entertaining movie franchise, but doesn’t this come across as a little sad and desperate? Like Peyton Manning suddenly changing his mind and deciding not to retire?

But I guess when even the likes of Indiana Jones and The Kingdom of the Crystal Skull — a movie I never even bothered to see — registers a very fresh 78% on Rotten Tomatoes, the powerful combination of greed and a severe lack of original ideas remains stronger than ever.

The announcement just hit, so expect more details to emerge in the coming days.

In the mean time, please feel free to join the masses in sharing your most honest reactions to this exhilarating news.
