If you’ve managed not to spoil any Game of Thrones information for yourself thus far, then I’ve got two things to say to you:
1. Congratulations!
2. Stop reading. No really, close this tab and go jerk off somewhere else.
Even if you haven’t spoiled anything yet I’m sure you were aware of everyone flipping shit about how a certain someone didn’t make an appearance in last season’s finale. Book readers thought this someone would pop up, and the damn cast even hinted to it online:
And yet (SPOILERS SPOILERS SPOILERS) Lady Fuckin’ Stoneheart DIDN’T SHOW UP. The episode just ENDED, with no zombified Catelyn Stark rolling in to wreck all those bitch-ass Freys up. In case you were wondering, that’s the very definition of what a “cocktease” is.
But for those of you who were just as pissed as I was/am, we may just get our time in the sun because the IMDB cast list for Game of Thrones Season 5 reveals that Michelle Fairley (Catelyn Stark, Jesus do I have to put a leash on you so you won’t get lost?) is set to make an appearance in the fifth season finale as the “Hooded Woman.” Which, as I’m hoping you’ve connected the dots for yourself by now, probably translates to “Lady Stoneheart.”
Unfortunately while I’m all for Lady Stoneheart, I’m also a realist. Not to crush anyone’s hopes and dreams, but there’s also a few logical explanations for Fairley showing up in the casting list:
1. Flashbacks
2. IMDB isn’t always right
3. Just a big “Fuck You” from George R.R. Martin because, you know, fuck you.
To put it simply, we won’t know for sure until the season 5 finale…but can we speculate the shit out of it until then? Of course.
