Here’s Every ‘Game Of Thrones’ Character Who’s Died So Far, From Season One All The Way Through The Season Six Finale

On March 10th, 2010, HBO ordered the first season of Game of Thrones. The show was an adaptation of the first book in the widely successful epic fantasy novel series created by George R.R. Martin, titled A Song of Ice and Fire. The idea started in 2006 when the shows creators, David Benioff and D.B. Weiss, read the books and instantly fell in love with the story and just had to make a show about it. They met with George R.R. Martin and convinced him to hand over the rights by answering the question, “Who is Jon Snow’s mother?”

The story was originally supposed to follow along with the novels in the series so that when they caught up to the last book, George R.R. Martin would have released the next one in the series, allowing them to continue down the same path. However, after they followed the book timeline for the first four seasons, they eventually started to pass Martin’s series and are now creating original content based on the characters that have been created and the stories that have been told so far.

Like so many other HBO dramas, characters die. The same goes for Game of Thrones, except that people have a tendency to die much more frequently than many fans of HBO original shows are used to seeing. Even the main characters aren’t safe in this world of Ice and Fire that George R.R. Martin has created.

As the show heads into the last few episodes of its’ sixth season, let’s take a moment and give you the most complete list of Game of Thrones character deaths (only characters with actual names, none of that Stark Soldier crap, if we did that this thing could last for days) including which episode, season, and how it happened.

(Caution: Spoilers Ahead, You’ve Been Warned!)
