This Month, You’ll Be Able To Watch ‘Game Of Thrones’ In Glorious, Gigantic IMAX

HBO

HBO’s magnificent, marvelous masterpiece, Game of Thrones, can’t come back soon enough for me. The fourth season was one of the most spectacular I’ve watched on TV, and after having abstained from the show for so long, I became absolutely hooked.

If you are like me, and need a fix, this January you can get one in a gigantic way. IMAX theaters across the country will show the final two episodes of last season on the world’s biggest screens. That’s Watchers on the Wall, the hour-long episode focused solely on Mance Rayder’s assault on Castle Black, and The Children, the season finale which produced this spine-tingling scene

But you won’t just be getting two episodes you’ve already seen. Alongside those will come the first trailer for the new season. Yea.

From ComingSoon.net, which makes the experience sound like it will be bad ass (as though Game of Thrones could be anything else).

The episodes will be digitally re-mastered into the immersive IMAX format and will be released for an exclusive one-week engagement in upwards of 150 IMAX theatres across the country’s top markets through January 29. In coming days, fans can log onto IMAX.com for screening information and to purchase tickets.

The IMAX release of “Game of Thrones” will be digitally re-mastered into the image and sound quality of The IMAX Experience with proprietary IMAX DMR (Digital Re-mastering) technology. The crystal-clear images, coupled with IMAX’s customized theatre geometry and powerful digital audio, create a unique environment that will make audiences feel as if they are in the series.

The screenings will run from January 23-29.
