10 Reasons (In GIF Form) Why Leonardo DiCaprio Was Named U.N. Messenger of Peace

Big news for our boy Leonardo DiCaprio. Yesterday he was named the United Nations Messenger of Peace.

“It’s an honor to accept the role of U.N. Messenger of Peace on Climate Change and to support the Secretary General in his efforts to address one of the most important issues we face as a global community,” said DiCaprio. “I feel a moral obligation to speak out at this key moment in human history — it is a moment for action. How we respond to the climate crisis in the coming years will likely determine the fate of humanity and our planet.”

Cool, huh? But what does being United Nations Messenger of Peace actually mean?

“United Nations Messengers of Peace/Goodwill Ambassadors are distinguished individuals, carefully selected from the fields of art, literature, science, entertainment, sports or other fields of public life, who have agreed to help focus worldwide attention on the work of the United Nations.”

Sweeeet.

We here at BroBible also happen to think Leo is a fantastic choice for this role, for 10 very good reasons…

1. His many years of dedicated service to the women of the world.

2. His sensitive nature.

3. His wicked dance skills.

4. His concern for the environment.

5. His unbridled enthusiasm.

6. His willingness to try new things.

7. His knowledge of world economics.

8. He can make this face.

9. And this one.

10. And finally, well, he’s just cool as fuck.
