We finally have some pics from the upcoming Netflix show ‘GLOW’ starring Alison Brie as a pro wrestler loosely based on the real-life organization, Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling.
The show will be a 10-episode comedy series created in part by Orange Is the New Black’s Jenji Kohan and co-executive producer Tara Herrmann.
Deadline describes the show for us…
Created by Liz Flahive (Homeland) and Carly Mensch (Orange Is The New Black), G.L.O.W. was inspired by the real story of the 1980’s female wrestling league. Set in Los Angeles and showcasing big hair and body slams, the series tells the fictionalized story of an out-of-work actress who finds one last attempt to live her dreams in the form of a weekly series about female wrestlers.
Flahive and Mensch will serve as showrunners and will executive produce with Kohan and Herrmann.
The Reagan-era female wrestling league G.L.O.W. (Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling), a female answer to the male-dominated World Wrestling Federation, was showcased in the eponymous kitschy, Las Vegas-based syndicated TV series, which ran for four seasons, featuring sketches, songs and wrestling.
(1) Anyone who is familiar with the real Gorgeous Ladies Of Wrestling knows this could be really good, and (2) having Alison Brie back on our TV sets is something we’ll always be interested in checking out.

I have no idea if this show will be any good, but I will definitely be watching to find out.
GLOW makes its premiere on Netflix on June 23rd.
