Meow, I couldn't be more excited for this. The original Super Troopers is still one of the ten best comedies of my generation. And meow they've confirmed that a sequel is going down. Broken Lizard members Kevin Heffernan and Steve Lemme (FARVA MAC!) were on Bald Faced Truth this past Friday, where they said the rumors are true.
There is going to be a sequel. It’s actually happening right now. We just sealed the deal with Fox, who owns the rights. The script is written, and later in the year we’ll do the shooting.
Meow, I'm sure you are worried. Many a flash-in-the-pan comedy failed with their sequel. The Hangover 2 comes to mind. And Meet the Fockers. But this isn't a studio rushing something out right after the original to cash in. And honestly, the Broken Lizard's crew has made a few duds already, so they know how not to fail. At least, I hope that's what they are thinking meow. Whatever, I'm too excited right meow to be critical. It will be great.
