A Horse Was Killed By A Flying Iceberg On The Set Of ‘Fast & Furious 8’

One of the hallmarks of the ‘Fast & Furious’ franchise is their ability to continually ratchet up the insanity. From the climactic heist/chase scene in 5, to Owen Shaw’s tank barrage in 6, to Vin Diesel flying a car through two buildings in Dubai in 7, the movies have gotten more and more absurd.

Which makes me so jacked for 8, especially after this leak from the set today.

A flying iceberg kills a horse at one point in the movie.

Vin Diesel, it appears, will be riding a horse through the Arctic after his car dies (a horse is like a car), when an iceberg picked up and thrown by Jason Statham hits his horse in the head. Talk about a scene.

Wait. Nevermind. It turns out that the horse, Jupiter, just happened to be near the set, and the wind hurled a chunk of fake ice from filming at it. The fake ice struck the horse, injuring it badly enough it needed to be euthanized.

The horse had nothing to do with filming.

BUT… it’s not too late for the writers to add that scene in.
