Is America’s love affair with Jennifer Lawrence closing in on its end? The oft-awarded actress is just 25-years-old, but it would seem that the fact that she appears to be everywhere we turn these days is starting to wear thin on some people.
Of course that wasn’t helped on Sunday night when Lawrence, who won the Best Actress Golden Globe Award, snapped (many would say rudely) at a reporter who appeared to be reading questions to her from off of his phone.
In case you can’t watch that, here’s the gist…
“You can’t just live your life behind your phone, bro. You can’t do that, you’ve gotta live in the now,” Lawrence scolded the reporter holding the phone.
“Sorry, sorry,” replied the reporter.
“We’re at the Golden Globes,” replied Lawrence. “If you put your phone down you’d know that [the answer to his question].”
Many pointed out, accurately in my opinion, that English didn’t seem to be the reporter’s first language and that was perhaps why he was reading his question off of his phone. That, mixed with J-Law’s terse response, didn’t sit well with a WHOLE BUNCH of people on social media.

Jennifer Lawrence criticising a guy for living life behind a screen seems dumb for someone who's just won an award for being in a movie

Jennifer Lawrence is a piece of work. She gets to be rude time after time and y'all still praise her. 🙄. #overit

I love Jennifer Lawrence but her stock fell with that mean-spirited treatment of a foreign journo. She's smelling herself. #GoldenGlobes

let's be real.. jennifer lawrence did not "misunderstand" the reporter's question, she just didn't care enough to try and understand him

Jennifer Lawrence wants to be America's sweetie with the tumbling and shit on stage. Her disrespect of a foreign reporter was classless.

I like Jennifer Lawrence, but she can't be mad at a reporter for being on his phone at an important event when…. pic.twitter.com/LJWzqdeEsk

And that was just the tip of the torches and pitchforks brought out on Twitter.
So is the love affair officially over?
