A Mural Dedicated To Kim Kardashian’s Naked Selfie Was Vandalized In The Most Offensive Possible Way

I’m far, FAR from a Kim Kardashian fan but doing this to another person’s work just to spite her is ridiculous.

On Monday, a 30-foot mural of Kim Kardashian’s infamous naked selfie appeared on an laneway in Melbourne, Australia. The mural was done by Lush Sux, a self-described “social-media activist” who’s known for painting controversial murals all over Melbourne.

A day after it went up, this happened:

“It was a given, considering the subject matter,” the artist told BuzzFeed. “I’m bummed that people didn’t get more of a chance to interact with it and that someone felt the dire need to spray ‘SLUT’ across it.”

First, in regard to the slut shaming, grow up.

Second, if you don’t like Kim Kardashian or her husband or the celebrity machine that created her, fine, but this mural was done by an artist. Would it be right for a person to spray paint over a Warhol because they don’t like Campbell’s soup? No. So get over it.

The artist chose to paint Kim Kardashian. He chose to put that painting on a building. The building owners chose to let it happen. If you don’t like it, look the other way. It’s not your fucking painting or your fucking wall.
