Quentin Tarantino Freaks Out on an Interviewer, Exclaims ‘I’m Shutting Your Butt Down!’

In a recent discussion with Krishnan Guru-Murthy for Britian's Channel 4 News, Quentin Tarantino momentarily lost his cool over a question about violence in his films: “Don’t ask me a question like that. I’m not biting. I refuse your question. I’m not your slave and you’re not my master. You can’t make me dance to your tune. I’m not a monkey.” When the TV host tries to ask another question, Tarantino adds, “I'm shutting your butt down!” which is kind of hilarious. You'd think one of the greatest hard-R movie directors of all time would choose the word “ass” instead of “butt.” “Ass” definitely has more emphasis.

On one hand, it's a perfectly valid question: Violence is a hallmark of Tarantino's films and “Django Unchained” is no exception. On the other hand, it's a subject interviewers like Guru-Murthy have forced Tarantino to talk about over and over again, to the point of ad nausea. He can't release a movie without facing inevitable questions about violence. And the Oscar snub for Best Director yesterday might have been fresh on his mind.

Otherwise, the rest of the 8-minute interview is a great discussion about “Django Unchained.”

The freak-out occurs around the 4:30 mark.
