RadioShack Just Sent Out The Most LOLOLOLOL Press Release In History: Nick Cannon Is Their Newest Exec

First off I’d just like to send a HUGE SHOUT OUT to RadioShack for still existing. I thought they folded under years and years ago, and honestly had no idea that they were even still a company. Secondly I’d like to commend them on sending out the most LOLLERBLADES press release in the history of PR this morning when they announced that Wild ‘N Out and Drumline actor Nick Cannon will join RadioShack as their new Chief Creative Officer.

In the press release RadioShack basically set a new world record for shooting blanks, as they went on and on about how wonderful this is for the brand and how the synergy is god’s gift to man. However, I think what both Nick Cannon and RadioShack have failed to realize is that each side represents some of the most impotent brands in the world, brands that have been on viagra for over a decade to the point that even the little blue pills don’t get anyone excited about them anymore.

I might be completely alone in this sentiment though, so I’m curious if you bros will buy more/less RadioShack now that Nick Cannon is their Chief Creative Officer. I’ve created a Twitter poll that you can choose to respond to, if you want:

Here’s a snippet of the press release that went up over on PRNewsWire:

FORT WORTH, Texas, Dec. 2, 2015 /PRNewswire/ — One of today’s most successful and multi-faceted artists in the entertainment industry, Nick Cannon is a lifelong fan of RadioShack and credits the retailer with fostering his creative spirit and interest in electronics. Today, Nick Cannon joins RadioShack as the neighborhood electronics store’s Chief Creative Officer. Cannon will play an active role in the development of RadioShack-exclusive products as well as helping to further transform the retailer into the must-visit electronics destination, from curating the music selection to performances and events. He will also help the company continue to grow its educational and S.T.E.M (science, technology, engineering and math) initiatives nationwide. He will maintain an office at RadioShack headquarters in Fort Worth, Texas.

Cannon’s relationship with RadioShack began at the age of 8, shortly after inheriting his grandfather’s stereo equipment. After taking apart the components and not knowing how to put the equipment back together, Cannon turned to his neighborhood RadioShack in San Diego for help. Before long, he learned how to assemble the equipment, and also make modifications so that he had the best sound system in the area.

“RadioShack is a brand that matters,” said Nick Cannon. “As a kid, spending time in my neighborhood RadioShack was invaluable. The maker mentality and educational approach taught me a lot and encouraged me to explore my own creativity. In return I wanted to give back by fostering creative pursuits in others, and helping kids move to the next level. I’ve been able to do that with my company, NCredible, and I’m proud to do even more as Chief Creative Officer for RadioShack.”

I’m going to be honest with you bros, I’m Team Mariah Carey all the way and the only reason I don’t watch America’s Got Talent is because I can’t have him on my television set. For me it’s a little like this: ‘Nick Cannon is to Entertainment what Skip Bayless is to Sports’. I just don’t do it. I guess I should congratulate Nick Cannon on his pay day, because his chances at $$$$$ are few and far between these days.
