Last night Jimmy Fallon brought Harry and Lloyd back into our lives by debuting the new Dumb and Dumber To trailer. In doing so, the torch of stupid physical comedy circa the early ’90s is being passed to generation of comedy fans. I can already picture my 17-year-old cousin exclaiming “I like it a lot” just like I did after watching Dumber and Dumber as a teenager. Cult classics have a weirdly awesome way of never going away when it comes to quoting their most memorable lines.
I feel like it’s been far too many years since I’ve actually laughed at Jim Carey. That’s a damn shame, since Ace Ventura and The Mask and Dumb and Dumber were hallmark comedies of my childhood. Now that he’s getting his physical comedy mojo back, Jimmy Fallon did a new segment of his “Real People, Fake Arms” with Carey and Jeff Daniels. Carrey’s facial expressions alone are worth it.
