The movie just hit theaters last night at midnight but already Batman V Superman is in crisis mode after dipping to a 30% favorability rating on Rotten Tomatoes, getting absolutely torn to shreds by movie critics worldwide.
Ben Affleck’s never struck me as a man who reads reviews of his movies but that didn’t stop this interviewer with the world’s biggest balls from asking Affleck and his Superman counterpart Henry Cavill how they feel about their movie being equated to a steaming pile of elephant dung. The resulting clip has already been spread worldwide with the moniker ‘Sad Affleck’, and it’s quite possibly the greatest clip of 2016, maybe ever:
You KNOW that this was Ben Affleck‘s biggest fear. From the second it was announced that Ben Affleck would play Batman you just knew that he was sitting in a dark room somewhere, panicking, knowing that if this movie tanked it would probably mean the end of his already lackluster career. Ben can’t help but think that he’s had a good run, and it’s all over now. You can just see it in his eyes.
And don’t get me wrong, I’m sad for the guy that he’s derailed his career by fucking up one of the most beloved superhero characters in the world. I’ve always been a big fan of Affleck, and I’m not happy to see him so sad in this clip, but that hasn’t stopped me from recognizing this as one of the greatest clips of the year, because it is.
