We’ve posted a number of VFX reels from Game of Thrones over the years, but this one from Season 4 is BY FAR my favorite. The world of Game of Thrones is so easily digestible that its all too easy to forget the amount of cinematic magic that goes into the sweeping vistas and establishing shots of Daenerys Targaryen’s growing army. Rodeo FX was awarded with the 2014 Emmy Award for Outstanding Special and Visual Effects for its work in the last season of GoT. The video below contains a portfolio of their work in the past season.
