The Show Runners On ‘Game Of Thrones’ Say That Season 7 Will Be Delayed

Season six of Game of Thrones just ended, which means we have another NINE WHOLE MONTHS until season seven starts…or do we?

According to Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D. B. Weiss during an interview on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, the story lines we have going into season seven will require “grim, grey weather,” meaning that production will have to wait for the seasons to change:

“We don’t have an air date yet,” Benioff and Weiss said. “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here’ – and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim, grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”(via)

The past six seasons of Thrones have all premiered sometime in either March or April, however with the delay it sounds like we may not get a new episode until possibly May, maybe even June or July.

Not that I’m complaining…I’m happy we’re getting episodes at all, and that they’re finally good again. Season five was so “blah” I almost stopped watching halfway through, never mind how good the “bad puss-ay” is.
