Stephen Colbert Hilariously Responds to the #CancelColbert Twitter Movement

In case you missed the entire #CancelColbert brouhaha on Twitter, people were calling for the Colbert Report to be canceled over a tweet he didn’t write about a joke he did referencing an asian-stereotype character he did almost an entire decade ago (that’s quite a bit to process, we know). Last night, after having to wait three days for a new show to air, Colbert finally got to respond to the 72 hours worth of news coverage his joke got.  And in classic Colbert fashion he ended his perfect response in the most Colbert way possible:

“That ends that controversy. I just pray that no one tweets about the time I said that Rosa Parks was overrated, Hitler had some good ideas, or ran a cartoon during Black History Month showing President Obama teaming up with the Ku Klux Klan because, man, that sounds pretty bad out of context.”
