In his new movie The Hero, Sam Elliott plays a really exaggerated and less accomplished version of Sam Elliot. As the story goes, Elliot’s character, Lee Hayden is an aging Western movie star who has a golden voice. However, his days as a star have long since passed him by. According to the movie’s release, Hayden “spends his days reliving old glories and smoking too much weed with his former-co-star-turned-dealer, Jeremy (Nick Offerman), until a surprise cancer diagnosis brings his priorities into sharp focus. He soon strikes up an exciting, contentious relationship with stand-up comic Charlotte (Laura Prepon), and he attempts to reconnect with his estranged daughter, Lucy (Krysten Ritter), all while searching for one final role to cement his legacy.”

If you’re a Sam Elliott fan, this seems like it will be the ultimate Sam Elliott movie for you.
