Tom Cruise Recreates Iconic ‘Top Gun’ Duet In Lip Sync Battle With Jimmy Fallon

With the enormous success of the first four installments of the Mission Impossible which have made a combined $2,099,410,206 at the worldwide box office, plus the hype regarding Cruise doing his own frightening stunt of hanging outside of an Airbus A400 airplane the upcoming Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, the movie doesn’t really need much promotion. Because people love sequels, remakes and anything they’re familiar with, Tom Cruise doesn’t have to go on The Tonight Show. Without question, Tom Cruise is easily in the discussion of biggest actors in the world and he could have easily said that he doesn’t want to participate in any of Jimmy Fallon’s drinking games. He could have said that he just wanted to promote his movie with an interview. Thankfully Tom Cruise isn’t too full of himself and he had some fun with his appearance on the late night talk show and entertained the masses.

On Monday night, Fallon and Cruise threw down in one heck of a lip sync battle. Cruise started things off by singing “song of the summer” candidate, “Can’t Feel My Face” by The Weekend. I did not see that coming.

After Fallon sang a Rolling Stones song, Cruise slid on stage, and pretended that he was going to sing Bob Seger’s “Old Time Rock and Roll,” from Risky Business. However Cruise kept his underwear on and sang “Paradise By The Dashboard Light” by Meatloaf instead.

For Fallon’s last song, he selected “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin,” and asked Maverick to sing the iconic song from the 1986 movie Top Gun. They dedicated the soulful ditty to Goose and then serenaded the audience.

Is Tom just getting in character for Top Gun 2?

Boy, I miss Goose.
