Tom Hardy’s An 18th Century Badass In The First Trailer For FX’s ‘Taboo’

Academy Award Nominee Tom Hardy puts on quite the chillin, gritty pose as the scarred James Keziah Delaney in the first trailer for the approaching FX drama miniseries ‘Taboo’ co-produced by the Ridley Scott (Hardy’s billed as co-executive producer). The eight-part miniseries takes place in 1814 and follows Hardy as James Delaney, a man once believed dead, only to return to his previous life in London just as his father passes away and leaves a shipping empire for him to claim. A log line from the network states:

“His father’s legacy is a poisoned chalice, and with enemies lurking in every dark corner, James must navigate increasingly complex territories to avoid his own death sentence. Encircled by conspiracy, murder, and betrayal, a dark family mystery unfolds in a combustible tale of love and treachery.”

Of course any sort of legacy claim in the olden days would have to set off seven kinds of hellishly criminal behavior. The series is set to make its debut in 2017, and we should all be stoked bros. I previously assumed Tom Hardy was a strictly method actor, but the new TV series hints he’s turnin’ over a new leaf.
