Here’s Everything We Know About The New Spider-Man Movie So Far

The Spider-Man reboot from Marvel and Sony finally has a title — get ready for Spider-Man: Homecoming dropping in 2017. But what else do we know about the web slinger’s next film?

Here’s everything we know for sure (possibly) so far…

Spider-Man: Homecoming is currently scheduled to hit theaters on July 7th, 2017. But don’t mark the date YET because nothing is ever certain.

According to reports from CinemaCon in Las Vegas, Sony Pictures Motion Picture Chairman Tom Rothman described it as “a high school reference and shows Peter Parker’s enduring conflict — saving the world and getting your homework done.” So it’s a teen drama flick? Not quite but Peter Parker WILL be in high school and not in college/after college.

Jon Watts, best known for indie hit Cop Car, will direct new Spider-Man Tom Holland with Marisa Tomei as Aunt May in Spider-Man: Homecoming. The new and improved Spidey will also play a major role in next month’s Captain America: Civil War.

The movie will THANKFULLY skip over Spider-Man’s origin story because who the hell doesn’t know it by now? Spider-Man, super powers, dead uncle, yada yada…

This will eventually lead to the Sinister Six which will happen. Eventually.
