‘Blank Space’ is a perfect song. Admit it, you’ve already listened to it at least once today. It’s catchy, fun and great.
But while fully in the realm of pop, the lyrics and general tone of it have an angst that would be right at home in the world of punk. You could hear Saves The Day or Pennywise belting out the words, “So it’s gonna be forever or it’s gonna go down in flames.”
I Prevail covered the song for ‘Pop Goes Punk’ and their version of Tay’s hit is indeed a perfect punk jam.
