John Mayer’s New Guitar Case Is A Work Of Art That Deserves To Be Kept In A Museum

John Mayer’s knee deep amidst a world tour that has him performing for fans in arenas across the planet from now until September. Seriously, this tour sounds exhausting. He’s playing 73 concerts between now and early September, 20 of which are with the Dead & Company Tour where he’ll be playing the Jerry Garcia parts with the living members of The Grateful Dead.

John Mayer performed at the Air Canada Centre in Toronto on Monday night, and before that concert, he was presented with a new guitar case by artist Samara Shuter. I’m guessing that some of you are already familiar with Sam Shuter’s artwork because she’s BLOWING UP thanks to her unique style of painting. If you’re not already familiar with Sam Shuter’s artwork you need to CLICK HERE now to check out her work (you can find her on Instagram at @SamShuter as well).

It’s not often I get to share news like this before the celebrity that it pertains to, but I happen to know the artist and was able to have her send me pictures of John Mayer’s new guitar case before John even had a chance to put them up on his Instagram account. This is easily the sickest guitar case in the game, and Sam Shuter deserves all the awards for her work on this:

If you aren’t familiar with Sam Shuter’s iconic style of artistry, she’s painted John Mayer’s new guitar case in the style of her iconic artwork:

That painting, and John Mayer’s guitar case, all deserve to be displayed in MoMa…Actually, who do I talk to about getting that done? Is there a MoMa hotline for ‘getting shit done’ like this?

We’ve documented John Mayer‘s image rehabilitation exhaustively here at BroBible. My colleague Brandon recently penned this lengthy article on ‘why John Mayer deserves a second act at public redemption‘. He’s always been one of the most talented musicians in the game, but his professional life took a turn towards legendary status after he teamed up with Bob Weir and The Grateful Dead. John Mayer’s transitioned from being a cocky Hollywood guitarist who serially dates celebrities to a humble guitarist selling out arenas and playing the best music of his life.

These little moves in John’s life taking him towards artistry and away from wearing a pink thong bikini on MTV are doing a lot to rehabilitate Mayer’s public image.

Here’s my final plug for Sam. Go follow her on Instagram and Facebook, and check out her artwork at SamaraShuter.com to peruse the badass paintings which are currently for sale.
