Kanye West Was Asked By Paparazzi About Taylor Swift, Didn’t Exactly Say Nice Things

After reigniting the so-called feud between himself and Taylor Swift with the lyrics in ‘Famous’ off his newly-released The Life Of Pablo, Kanye West pretty much got what was coming to him when Taylor won the Grammy for Album Of The Year on Monday, and delivered a haymaking message to West in her acceptance speech.

Then, a soundbite allegedly taken backstage at Saturday Night Live this past weekend, even before the Grammys, made its way to the internet. In it, among other ridiculously self-aggrandizing statements, the voice that is supposedly Kanye calls Taylor Swift a “fake ass.” Yes, the internet lost its collective shit when it surfaced.

Now, given the chance to clarify what exactly he meant in the backstage rant, Kanye didn’t exactly back down from his previous statements when confronted by paparazzi at the airport this morning.

After ducking the topic several times, West eventually came clean, claiming that he “just wants the best for that person” being Taylor Swift, in quite the facetious tone, before changing the subject to something really non sequitur.

“But it’s people going through real issues out here. It’s people that’s out of work. It’s people that’s in debt that can’t make it out of the debt. There’s people in debt that don’t have a shoe. There’s people that’s in debt that don’t have a hit album out also. The media tries to make this ongoing story and everything for hits. I don’t think people care about me or her in that way. People care about they families, they kids. If you like my music listen to it. If you like her music, listen to it.”

Also, Yeezys for canines doesn’t exactly sound like a “get out of $53 million worth of debt” idea. Just sayin’.
