Rate the Official 2013 Coachella Line-Up

Why didn't Mark McGrath, the Spin Doctors, Sugar Ray, Smash Mouth, Gin Blossoms, Cracker, Vertical Horizon, Everlast, the Verve Pipe, and Marcy Playground make the bill?

The official Coachella 2013 line-up was announced today and snarky music lovers are PISSED. Instead of a rumored set by “The Rolling Stones,” we get Stone Roses. No Daft Punk. No Tupac holograms. There's also the usual EDM fare of Benny Benassi, Knife Party, Bassnectar, Pretty Lights, etc. French rockers Phoenix on night two (spawning murmurs that a Daft Punk appearance could still be possible) and Red Hot Chili Peppers to close it out. But is that worth the $349 for a three-day pass to the party? That's A LOT of dough.

To be fair, it's pretty fucking awesome that Jurassic 5 is getting back together. They've been a concert bucket list item for me since college. Other kinda cool artists on the bill: Postal Service (also nice to have them back together), Wu-Tang, Lou Reed, and the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. Still, people are pissed over a very “meh” line-up. Here's a few Twitter reactions via Business Insider:

Here's what I like about it: With the lack of fancy, big name headliners, it will pretty much force festival attendees to check out the smaller up-and-comers on the list. There's going to be a lot of cool music discoveries at the Empire Polo Grounds this year.
