This Remix Of The ‘Stranger Things’ Theme Song Is The Hottest Retro Track Of The Summer

If you haven’t yet watched Stranger Things on Netflix that to be the VERY FIRST thing you do when you get home tonight. Currently, Stranger Things is the #1 rated TV show on IMDB so I’m going to just assume that the majority of you bros have heard of it and/or seen it by now, but I will also assume that since Stranger Things is a Netflix show that launched without much promotion at all there are many amongst you who haven’t heard of it.

At this point, I am almost willing to call Season 1 of Stranger Things the single best season in television history, and not just because every episode was phenomenal but because they seemed to get things right that TV shows and movies have failed at for decades. For instance, the local sheriff could’ve easily gone down the road of being a small-town drunk, which you’re sort of led to believe he is in the first five minutes, but in the next 5 minutes he immediately gets his shit together and there’s never a single wasted line of dialogue with him and he’s probably the best cop/sheriff character in Sci-Fi history (huge shout out to actor David Harbour for murdering the role of Jim Hopper!). And this is just ONE aspect of the show. It nails ever single detail that other series look past, but at the same time it’s one of the most enthralling storylines I’ve ever seen in television. Like I said above, it’s probably the single greatest season in TV history.

This Netflix series is the greatest homage in history to 70’s and 80’s Science Fiction films, drawing from movies like E.T. The Extra Terrestrial, Goonies, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, and many more. If you’ve already finished up watching all 8 episodes Stranger Things then you can see this side-by-side comparison to all of the 70’s and 80’s Sci-Fi movies it paid homage to in one of the coolest videos I’ve ever seen on the Internet.
