Tom Hanks’ Rapper Son Chet Hanx Drops A Music Video About ‘The Thirst’

I’m probably one of the few bloggers on the Internet who can say they’ve actually hung out with the musician Chet Hanx a.k.a. Chet Haze a.k.a. Tom Hanks’ youngest son. For those not familiar, Chet went to Northwestern University and blew up back in 2011 when a mixtape of his very amateur-ish rap songs went viral. I enjoyed hanging out with him in 2011 and talking to him in person (we hung in the BroBible office late one night, then at a studio in Times Square a couple months later), giving him a chance to address some of the silly snark that The Internet slings at him just because he’s son of Tom Hanks, one of the most beloved actors on the silver screen. He’s like a lot of Bros: Played lacrosse in high school, was in a frat, is kind of a ladies man, really likes music… But he just happens to be the son of someone famous, so that automatically grinds the gears of others he sets off to do his own thing in the music industry.

Anyway, he’s back to making music and all that jazz. It’s not the type of music I personally like since it’s a slow-paced, R&B lovemaking jam. Anything this downtempo automatically sounds like K-Ci & JoJo to me. But I’m sure someone with more acute musical tastes will dig it.

Here’s a track Chet Hanx just dropped about The Thirst.

While we’re on the subject, Rude Jude went in on him on Shade 45 a couple weeks ago. Shit got really weird when his boy did something stupid and got kicked out of the studio.
