Back in September, Waka Flocka Flame took to social media and announced that he was hiring a salaried person to roll his blunts for a $50,000 a year. “I suck at rolling weed,” the Atlanta rapper later told BroBible. News further promoted by trending social media posts, this once in a lifetime job opportunity yielded over 60,000 applications via Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.
“Applications really come like videos,” Waka Flocka explained before continuing on and expressing his sincere disdain for the candidates who submitted their college resumés as applications. “A fuckin’ Bachelor’s? You don’t need a bachelor’s [degree] to roll a blunt,” the rapper told us jokingly.
Right before a gig at Pacha in New York City, Waka Flocka Flame sat down with BroBible for an exclusive interview. While Waka Flocka Flame answered most of our questions about the job search, in a cool casualness, it wasn’t until he shamelessly failed to roll up a blunt when we realized that Waka Flocka Flame actually needs his own blunt roller.
He told us lots of things: How someone made him a blunt that was literally shaped like a Transformer in the blunt-roller application process (“you could smoke from the legs, the arms, the head, and the back”), how he smoked a half-a-pound of kush in 2008 with Gucci on an eight hour trip, his relationship with edibles. And perhaps, most shockingly, that Waka likes to “listen to country music and shit” when he smokes weed.
