BOOOOZE. Is there anything better on planet earth?
I like to walk that fine line between telling myself I don’t have a drinking problem and spending exorbitant amounts of money on the best bottles money can buy.
The 2018 International World Spirits Competition came out this week which name the best spirts in the world. Each type of alcohol has its own category so we get to see the Best Scotch, Best Bourbon, Best Brandy, etc.
The 2018 IWSC awards were voted on by 400 experts across the world and each spirit also undergoes chemical testing to determine alcohol content, sugar amounts, etc. Points are deducted from any spirits deviating from the acceptable norms by including outside ingredients. The voting process takes a whopping 7 months to complete.
This is the best of the best. Not just the most expensive bottles on the planet but the ones that are genuinely the best to drink.
Sure, you can roll into any TotalWine and spend $150 on a bottle and know it’ll be good but that’s not the point of these awards. The point is to determine the best in category for every spirit varietal each year.
You can check outa complete list of the 2018 International World Spirits Competition trophy winners on the IWSC’s website but I’ve gone ahead and included the ones I think most of you bros will be into.

I didn’t include the awards for Cognacs, Armagnacs, Brandy, and random Liqueurs because I don’t cover that too often here on BroBible and I figured if any of you dudes out there were interested you could just follow the link above over to the IWSC’s website.
Now, I enjoy tequila a lot but I don’t really drink it all too frequently but everywhere I turn on the Internet I see El Tesoro winning awards. Methinks I need to pop on down to TotalWine this weekend and pick up a bottle to see if the hype is truly real.
