As we march our way into 2021 we need to take some time to upgrade our everyday carry essentials. I’m talking about the EDC gear that’s with us each day to make the days run smoother. I’ve hand-picked this collection of 2021’s best everyday carry gear to help everyone sail smoothly through each week. You can purchase any of the items featured here by following the links throughout the article
The first item featured here today is the Luminox Sea Turtle Giant ($295) in Black/Green. This incredibly rugged watch is water-resistant up to 330 feet, powered by a Swiss-made quartz movement (100% Swiss construction), and the Tritium tubes provide an always-on lume that needs no light source or battery to glow.
The Astorflex Bootflex in Brown Nubuck ($195) are some of 2021’s best boots around. The 100% natural rubber soles feel like you are walking on a cloud and the boots are handmade in Northern Italy from the same family that’s been making them for six generations. This jacket features Raglan sleeve construction for extra range of motion, two lower welt handwarmer pockets to protect your hands against wind and chill, adjustable cuffs, and a whole lot more. Check it out if you’re in the market for a fantastic new waxed jacket.
The Lombardi Jacket comes in Mustard Dry Wax (pictured here) or Olive Dry Wax and each sell for $248. In the realm of waxed jackets, these cannot be topped at this price point. It is cut from a custom-developed 7 oz organic cotton herringbone fabric with a dry wax treatment and one of the finest around.
You can pair that jacket with the Western Rise AT Slim Pants ($95) with a classic five-pocket design. The air-textured fabric has stretch to move with you, sheds rock abrasion, and dries fast and the UPF 50+ protects your skin on long adventures. These are pants you can wear every day or hiking, camping, and traveling.
Here we’ve got the Vuori California Beanie which comes in a range of different colors. The soft and stretchy rib knit construction which makes it lightweight for any activity. The brilliant acrylic materials retain perfect shape over time and repels any stains.
I’m a pretty big fan of this stylish and timeless Leather Loop Key Chain ($28) which has a brass clip to keep your keys secure and a robust leather strap. This is a classic keychain style that’s always been a favorite of everyday carry enthusiasts and this particular one will develop a nice patina over time as the leather ages and takes on character.
Here we’ve got the Bullet Space Pen which sells for only $25, is made in the USA, and carries the classic Fisher ‘Bullet’ design that was developed in 1948. This pen uses a pressurized ink cartridge for an even, dependable flow that will write under any conditions.
Next up we have the Leatherman Topo Skeletool ($79). This is an ultra-light model (only 5oz) so it won’t weigh your pockets down and in addition to pliers, cutters, screwdrivers, and more it features a 420HC Combo Knife Knife, one of the best blades around. I’ve been a brand loyalist with Leatherman since my parents gave me my first Leatherman back in the Cub Scouts. They are built to last a lifetime if you treat them right and I wouldn’t trust any other brand to make me a multi-tool. Also, you cannot beat that price. This is a true multi-tool and one you can carry in conjunction with a knife because it provides so much value.
We round it out today with the Smith Optics Guide’s Choice – ChromaPop sunglasses ($259) in Matte Havana/ChromaPop Glass Polarized Brown. The advanced lens technology provides some of the best clarity you’ll find on the sunglasses market and these lenses are finished with multilayer coatings including mirror, anti-reflective (A/R), anti-scratch, and hydroleophobic. They have premium Italian stainless steel spring hinges and the Smith Polarchromic tech that self-adjusts the tint in response to the amount of light.
Last up is the Aer Duffel Pack 2 in Black ($170) which is an all-time favorite of mine. I’ve had an Aer Fit Pack 2 for years and I’ve traveled the world with it. It has a super handy zippered pocket at the bottom for your shoes as well as a massive central compartment. I often use this as my carry-on bag for flights. It also has a laptop sleeve and pockets throughout for everything you need to store.
