Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship Has Unreal Matchups In Saturday’s Must-Stream Event

BKFC56

The Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship is quickly growing in popularity, as bare knuckle boxing makes a big resurgence around the world. And, this weekend’s set of fights at BKFC 56 in Salt Lake City, Utah sets up to be a can’t miss event on Saturday evening at 9PM ET

The main card, with a PPV can be bought here via FITE TV, features eight fights, with another three matchups in the prelims. That’s a heck of a lot of fighting at the price of $49.99 or $29.99 with a FITE TV Plus subscription.

There are some HUGE names highlighting this card. The biggest name is almost certainly former Bellator and UFC star Eddie Alvarez (1-0). He will take on the top-ranked middleweight in the promotion, Mike Perry (3-0).

Alvarez is absolutely can’t miss, and the former Bellator and UFC lightweight champion was absolutely electric in his BKFC debut back in April. Take a look.

For his career, Alvarez is an impressive 30-8-2 in MMA fights, and is ranked by Fight Matrix as the third-best lightweight in UFC history. There’s no doubt that he’s one of the biggest draws in the entire combat fighting sports world.

But, he’s not fighting just any fighter this weekend, because Mike Perry is absolutely phenomenal. He’s the middleweight champion for a reason, and has an extensive MMA history, as well. After a 14-8 MMA record that featured fifteen fights in UFC, he’s absolutely dominated in his transition to the BKFC. This fight is one of the biggest fights of the year in any combat sports promotion. The winner not only will be the BKFC middleweight champion, but will arguably be the face of the entire promotion.

There’s a lot more to the card than that fight, though. The co-main event features Ben Rothwell (2-0) and Todd Duffee (0-0) in a heavyweight clash. And, the big storyline in this fight is the huge weight advantage for Rothwell, listed at 265lbs, compared to Duffee at just 205. Both of these fighters have extensive MMA history, but not a lot of history in the BKFC. if you’re looking to find a breakout star, this may be the fight that provides it. Plus, imagine the power on some of these punches from fighters this big. If you’re a fan of combat sports, it doesn’t get much better than that.

There’s also a women’s event, as experienced fighters Christine Ferea (7-1) and Bec Rawlings (3-2) will square off in a rematch of their title fight in April that Ferea won. Ferea still holds the belt, while Rawlings is ranked third, and neither fight has fought since. Rawlings clearly has something to prove in this fight and surely will be ready for revenge, while Ferea is looking to solidify her reign as the Women’s Flyweight champion.

All in all, there are fights up and down this card that are going to be incredible television, and I am fired up to watch.
