Dwayne Johnson Unveils Rugged Headphones Made To Survive The Rock’s Grueling Workouts

Dwayne Johnson is a man that needs to get shit done at the gym because he’s a very busy man. At any given time in the past few years, The Rock has been involved with numerous movies plus the Ballers TV show. Johnson doesn’t have time for his headphones to fall off his head while he’s pumping iron at the gym. So Johnson teamed up with Under Armour and JBL to make headphones that are tough enough for The Rock and won’t fall off when he hits the treadmill.

Introducing the Project Rock Edition wireless headphones, designed to withstand any kind of grueling workout. These special edition UA Sport wireless headphones are built by JBL in partnership with Under Armour and they have been tested by The Rock for months.

“I prefer training in ‘over the ear’ headphones, but have been consistently disappointed (pissed is a better word) with every pair, from every brand that just couldn’t handle my workouts,” Johnson said. “I thought if no one is going to design headphones built for training, then I would. And I’d make them the best. Almost two years later, they’ve arrived.”

The Rock’s signature Brahma Bull logo is adorned on the side of the over-the-ear headphones. You’ll notice that the buttons on the headphones are larger than most headphones so it’s easier to adjust the volume or pause your motivational music.

JBL has been making audio equipment since 1946 and they lend their extensive expertise in these high-quality and rugged (with an IPX4 rating) headphones built to withstand the toughest gym conditions. The JBL Charged Sound tech offers rich bass to give you the thumping beats to crush your workout.

The Project Rock supports easy-to-connect Bluetooth 4.1 and there’s no app needed to link up to your phone. There is an additional cable to connect directly to a headphone jack. The headphones feature Talk-Thru technology that lowers the volume of the music and activates noise-canceling microphones to let you talk to your gym bro during sets. The mics can be used to activate Siri or Google Now.

The headphones have a 610mAh battery that lets you bump your tunes for 16 hours. Plus, there is a Speed Charge that will give you one hour of playback after only a five-minute charge in case you forget to juice them up.

The headphones are made for the “grit and grind of your workout.” That means no matter how sweaty you get, they’ll keep on pumping out music. The soft and comfortable SuperVent lining the perimeter of the ear pads provides breathability. The fast-drying cushions are removable so you can hand-wash them. The headphones are foldable and come with a breathable case that says, “Blood. Sweat. Respect.”

To get you amped to hit the gym in the new workout headphones, Johnson curated a Spotify playlist titled “Iron Paradise Airwaves.” The Project Rock headphones will be available today for $249 HERE.
