Back in 2014, Equus Automotive created what they called the “ultimate muscle car” in the now legendary Bass770, which took its cues in styling from the 1960s-era Ford Mustang.

Now, in 2018, Equus Automotive is back with another wicked supercar in the form of their new Throwback, which as they put it is “more than just a Corvette, it’s significantly upgraded,” putting it mildly.

With options all the way up to a 1000hp, 822 lb-torque engine and the ability to reach a top speed of 220+ mph and go from 0 to 60mph in just 2.5 seconds, the Equus Throwback is what a Corvette wants to be when it grows up.

While at first glance the Throwback looks like it is based on the C7 Corvette, however, its two center-mounted fog lights and its taillights are callbacks to the C3 Corvette. The split rear window design is similar in styling to the C2-generation Corvette and the side coves recall the very first generation. The entire body is made of carbon fiber, while the interior is filled with Alcantara and boasts diamond-quilted seats. Oh, and check out those exhaust pipes. Wow.

Throw in a starting price of $130,000 and the 25 cars Equus is planning on producing won’t be available for purchase very long. (If they aren’t already sold out.)
