Having the proper footwear in the cold weather months is vital. For some of us, our footwear rotation typically goes with lined slippers or moccasins for inside the house, then boots for quick outside tasks—like letting the dog out or driving to get a coffee.
The transition of taking one shoe off and lacing up another can be quite annoying. These days there are footwear options that serve wonderfully as an indoor shoe just as much as an outdoor shoe.
Enter Glerups. They’re a brand based out of Denmark known for hand-making all-wool footwear. They actually source their wool from New Zealand, one of the best countries in the world for producing quality wool. Glerups has put together two shoes from its Camp Sole model—a hi-top boot and a low-top shoe.
Each Camp Sole model is made with 100% pure wool that naturally wicks away moisture. The wool also is temperature regulating and contains anti-odor properties, so you can wear these shoes with or without socks.
We’ve highlighted each Camp Sole model below for you to check out.
Glerups The Shoe – Camp Sole
The Shoe is flexible, lightweight, and slip-resistant (thanks to its strong rubberized sole). The handmade shoe is constructed with double-layer felted wool insoles for additional softness and comfort. The Shoe Camp Sole comes in two colors—Charcoal/Black and Grey/Black.
These bad boys are great for wearing around the house or driving into town. They pair wonderfully with a pair of cotton sweatpants, as well as a pair of garment-dyed chinos if you want to elevate your lounging outfit a bit.
Glerups The Boot – Camp Sole
The Boot is crafted with the same handmade process as The Shoe. We’re talking double-layered felted wool insoles, 100% natural wool, strong rubberized soles, they’ve got it all.
What The Boot offers is a little more utility for outside wear. You’ve got a little more ankle protection, so if it’s wet or snowy out you can better protect your feet when taking the dog out or walking out to the mailbox. The hi-top cut is also a matter of style. While both Glerups will look great with any lounge look, we’d say these hi-tops are better for, say, taking on a ski vacation. They’ll provide you extra protection while upholding a stylish look.
