People love to throw the term “core” around in the menswear world these days. Gorpcore, cafe core, normcore, goblin core, Jedi core, zombie core, dad core, sleeze core. The “cores” go on and on – a catchall that describes a look that overlaps with a person’s interests, identity, or lifestyle.
In a world where there’s a “core” to define every look, Master Chief and Spartan deserve a core too. Wolverine is leading the charge in defining Halo core, a real-world fashion aesthetic inspired by the futuristic military universe of the video game franchise.
Wolverine x Halo Boots – A Limited Edition Collab
Last March, Wolverine teamed up with 343 Industries, the developer of the Halo franchise, to release a line of limited-edition footwear, based on Wolverine’s Hellcat footwear.
The collab was dubbed the Wolverine x Halo: The Master Chief boot. Each boot had 117, Master Chief’s Spartan number, stitched on the heel.
As such, only 117 pairs were released, all in the iconic green color of his armor. At $225 a pair, they sold out in just a minute, now listed for over a thousand dollars on reseller sites like eBay.
For the second year in a row, Wolverine is back with another Halo boot inspired by the United Nations Space Command.
Introducing the new Spartan-inspired Wolverine x Halo boots. These limited edition unisex boots come in four new colorways, dropping just in time to celebrate the recent release of Halo Infinite’s Season 3.
Each Spartan boot includes a United Nations Space Command insignia on the outside heel.
Styles include the following pictured below.
- Foxwood Seal – brown leather boot with icy teal laces.
- Wild Kovan – green digital camo with gray leather
- Scorpion Horvath – a desert digital camo with khaki tan leather
- Midnight Frost – gray, with gray leather and icy pink laces.
Wolverine has been on a tear lately with limited edition boots. Last fall, the iconic boot brand released a collab with whiskey distillery Buffalo Trace, called the 1000 Mile Boot. The boots sold for $425 a pair via Huckberry.
The Halo Limited-edition boots cost $175 each.
