Big, big week for live music fans. Austin City Limits Week 2! Tonight Billy Strings hits the stage at Austin’s iconic Stubb’s Bar-B-Q for a sold-out show. On Saturday, October 15th, Strings heads to OKC for a sold-out show at The Criterion in Oklahoma City.
If you can’t make it tonight, nugs.net is streaming the Billy Strings shows exclusively for free for subscribers. All you have to do is sign-up for a membership to watch these exclusive Billy Strings shows. It’s a nice little perk for nugs.net members. If you’re on the fence and wondering if nugs.net is worth it, here’s a link to my overview of why I love it as a live music fan.
Last week Billy Strings tore up the stage at both Stubb’s and ACL, so it’s quite a treat for Strings’ fans to have one more show in Austin. You can listen to the audio of those shows – as well as Strings’ 30th birthday throwdown at The Wiltern in Los Angeles – with a nugs.net subscription.
I was at the Wiltern show and it was one heck of fun evening – as evidenced by the free hats.

Steam King Gizzard Live at Red Rocks via nugs.net
Earlier this week, Australia’s King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard stunned the music world by releasing yet another album during their run at Red Rocks Amphitheater. It’s their fourth album of the year. The 30-minute, two-track album, Laminated Denim, is a psych-rock odyssey, following right on the heels of Ice, Death, Planets, Lungs, Mushrooms and Lava. The two tracks on the album, “Made In Timeland” and “Hypertension”, are extremely badass, if KGLW is your flavor of weird.
The Monday, October 10th show at Red Rocks was filmed, with nugs.net offering the exclusive premiere on Friday, October 14th on demand. If you’re a subscriber, you can buy it for $16.99 and watch King Gizzard live at Red Rocks. If you’re a first-time subscriber, you can sign-up for an account at the usual nugs.net price and watch the show for only $9.99 – quite a good deal to watch one of the best bands of our generation shred one of the world’s most iconic amphitheaters.
Enjoy the music and have fun out there.
I am genuinely awestruck by the music K.Gizz is putting out right now. I feel like everyone dipping their toes in the K.Gizz orbit is experiencing one of the most mesmerizing performances of artistic endurance in a longggg time. Generational talent. https://t.co/OLzdY0xhDL pic.twitter.com/p4WxGntD94
