I’m very fortunate to live in a neighborhood in Milwaukee where I can access most of my needs (coffee shops, grocery stores, etc.) on foot. As a native New Yorker, I couldn’t imagine living any other way. Of course, not everything is within walking distance, so I do have to begrudgingly get in my car from time to time, sacrificing my access to this beautiful fall weather in the name of efficiency. Thanks to my new Monarc Tracer e-bike, that’s no longer a problem.
I’m a little ashamed to admit it, but I don’t think I’ve ridden a bike in almost 20 years. Chalk it up to running track in high school, selling my old bike when I moved from New York to Milwaukee 15 years ago, and never having a reason to get a new one until recently.
Seeing that this was my first time riding an e-bike, I was a little nervous, but I found the Monarc Tracer to be a smooth, comfortable, and intuitive riding experience.
Riding through the city, I naturally encounter quite a few potholes, but the Tracer’s shock-absorbing tires make those bad bumps a breeze.
I opted for Cruise Mode on the Pedal Assist (the first of five available riding modes), and that provided all the speed I needed as I navigated the city streets. Plus, the front and rear wheel brakes provide a smooth and natural stop.
Plus, being able to connect and control everything from the Monarc app and the touchscreen display gives me such peace of mind. All I have to do is swipe to lock and unlock the bike when I turn it on, and I’m ready to roll.
The Tracer’s batteries provide up to 65 miles of riding, which is plenty for me whether I’m running errands or just enjoying the weather in the park. Suffice it to say, I’ll be riding my Monarc Tracer as much as I can this fall.
