New All-Electric Aircraft Can Take Off From Water And Doesn’t Require A Pilot’s License

It’s not exactly a flying car or a legitimate plane. It’s probably best that we think of the Kitty Hawk Flyer as sort of a ‘flying boat’ because it can take off from and land on water. I don’t want to get caught up on classification here, I just want you bros to see how awesome the Kitty Hawk Flyer is.

The Kitty Hawk Flyer doesn’t require a pilot’s license but it will allow you to take off and fly short distances. Do you or your family have a lake house? With the Kitty Hawk Flyer, you can zip on over to the neighboring lakes in no time by flying in your Kitty Hawk. That’s the idea here. Give everyone the ability to fly without extremely time intensive training courses that break the bank.

Here’s the ‘about me’ from the Kitty Hawk Flyer website:

The Kitty Hawk Flyer is a new, all-electric aircraft. It is safe, tested and legal to operate in the United States in uncongested areas under the Ultralight category of FAA regulations. We’ve designed our first version specifically to fly over water. You don’t need a pilot’s license and you’ll learn to fly it in minutes. We publicly revealed the working prototype in April 2017. The official Flyer will be available by the end of the year.

In order to get a Kitty Hawk Flyer of your own you will need to become a member of their club ($100 for 3-year membership). This video above is the first time the public has seen this thing in action, and this video’s currently trending as the #4 video on YouTube. I’d be shocked if there isn’t a massive spike in interest over the coming weeks, so if you’re at all interested in buying a Kitty Hawk Flyer for yourself then I’d follow that link above!
