It’s 2018 National Tequila Day, my dudes. Today’s the day you get to grab a bottle, cut up some fresh limes, and all of your wildest dreams will come true. I wanted to put together a roundup for you of the best tequilas, cocktails, and deals for you all so you can save money on delicious tequila today while drinking responsibly.

Ranking ‘The Best’ tequila is subjective. You might be into drinking an Añejo or Reposado while I might prefer a Blanco/Silver. So I wanted to just throw a few interesting and exquisite tequilas your way for you to check out, along with some cocktail ideas, as well as a roundup of where you can find National Tequila Day deals today.

Best Tequilas For You To Check Out

things we want

don julio

Tequila Don Julio Reposado, Double Cask: Tequila Don Julio Reposado, Double Cask is the luxury tequila brand’s first industry-disrupting innovation in years, and it’s good. Do you like tequila? Obviously. Do you enjoy scotch whisky? Well, you’re in for a treat with Double Cask. Tequila Don Julio Reposado, Double Cask is a limited-edition tequila that’s finished for 30 days in the American White Oak barrels used to age Buchanan’s Blended Scotch Whisky. This has created a very distinct flavor profile. Double Cask is a high-end tequila with hints of whisky on the finish. It’s aged for 8 months and finished 1 month in the Buchanan’s barrels. Best served on the rocks.

cenote tequila blanco

cenote

Tequila Cenote Blanco: The first thing that catches your attention about this tequila is the vibrant color, a color which is reminiscent of the crystal clear waters of the ‘cenotes’ in Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula. This tequila carries tasting notes of cooked agave, subtle wood, citrus and pepper, and it is mellowed in American Oak barrels for three weeks before it’s bottled. Best served with squeezed fresh lime on the rocks or in a margarita.

Peligroso Tequila Añejo: This is one of my all-time favorite tequilas. I love Peligroso’s entire line from Silver to Añejo. This 100% Blue Weber Agave Añejo features tasting notes of oak, macadamia nut, spice, and hints of pumpkin.

Lokita Silver Tequila: This tequila was named the ‘World’s Best Blanco’ at the 2017 Tequila Awards (the 2018 awards haven’t been held yet). It carries “fruity notes and a palate with sweet fruits and pepper. Short and spicy finish.” Lokia Silver is made with Blue Weber Agave and blended with grain spirit and bottled without any coloring of flavoring. All natural.

Casa Noble Reposado: The Casa Noble Reposado was named the world’s best reposado tequila at the 2017 Tequila Awards. It carries tasting notes of vanilla on the palate and a finish or spicy peppers.

La Serpiente Emplumada Tequila Anejo: At the 2017 Tequila Awards, this was named as the world’s best tequila. It’s said to have “lovely rich flavours of agave, paired nicely with a light spice from the wood” and I wish I could confirm that but I unfortunately haven’t tasted this one myself just yet.
