When it comes to military clothing and vintage clothing, very few individuals know more than British fashion designer Nigel Cabourn. For decades his clothes have invoked a classic ruggedness that’s still popular to this day.
Cabourn recently teamed up with Vans to produce a collection of iconic footwear silhouettes and apparel. Our favorites are the five low-top models from the collab. Each one has its own unique spin on the fusion between military, utility, and vintage tastes.
On the partnership, Cabourn had this to say, “I am very pleased to introduce my first collaboration with Vault by Vans— combining surf style with classic Cabourn military, a strong color story, and graphical influences, I really think we have come together to achieve a great, relaxed, après surf-inspired collection.”
Design touches like patchwork denim, OG green camouflage, sandbag-colored canvas all are incorporated by Cabourn to give off his signature touch.
Perhaps the best shoe in the entire collection though is the OG Slip-On LX. With its carpet-y, multicolored pattern, the slip-on looks like a rug you’d find rummaging a weekend swap meet—if there’s one shoe we’re grabbing first, it’s going to be that one.
