Nike Is Making Cork Sneakers To Celebrate The 25th Anniversary Of The Air Max 90s

Nike’s Air Max 90s are arguably one of the most iconic running shoes of the past 25 years. This April Nike will celebrate the sneaker’s 25th anniversary with a special, “bottling popping” cork edition. Urban Industry has a first look:

As part of the 25th year celebrations we see the unique silhouette get a truly unique rework as NIKE apply cork to the shoes upper and tongue. The shoe’s look is completed with accents and the sole unit taken from the popular ‘Infrared’ design, with black and crimson detailing on the swoosh, heel tab and air bubble. This isn’t the first time we’ve seen the brand pop the cork for celebratory reasons on their footwear designs with the LeBron X EXT “Cork” released back in 2013 to commemorate his first championship win. It seems as though the material is only brought out on special occasions and it lends itself perfectly to the design of the classic runner.

Want, want, want, want.
