After the Yankees’ dismal showing against the Mets this past weekend, I can’t help but be reflective about our current World Series drought. And yes, I know that the plight of a team that has won 27 titles will never garner sympathy, but I still have feelings! And we’re a long way from the dominant teams of the 90s/early 00s. Have to imagine Bulls fans feel similarly when daydreaming about the Bulls dynasty of the 90s. Nike certainly didn’t forget, which is why they just dropped these special-edition Air Jordan 3s.

While the original Air Jordan 3 dropped in 1988, this “World’s Best” edition honors the 30th anniversary of Jordan hoisting his fourth trophy on Father’s Day, with a twist on the classic Bulls colorway that’s rendered in premium leather and layered with elephant print overlays that call back to the locker room that evening. The emotions of that moment of Jordan crying on the floor serve as a reminder of the power of sports in our lives.
