If you’ve ever cut a run short because your socks felt like soggy sponges, you already know the value of a proper weatherproof shoe. If you haven’t, trust me… it’s a brand of misery you want to avoid.
The Nike Pegasus Trail 5 GORE-TEX is built precisely for those days when the weather turns into an unmitigated disaster, but you still need to get outside. I wear these all the time to hike in because I HATE WHEN MY FEET GET WET.
Nike packed these with a GORE-TEX Invisible Fit upper to keep the torrential downpours out without making your feet feel like they’re trapped in a sauna. Underneath, you get the ReactX foam midsole for a ridiculously plush, responsive ride, paired with an All Terrain Compound outsole sporting 3.5mm lugs. Translation: you won’t slip and bust your backside on slick, muddy inclines. They even threw in a built-in ankle gaiter to keep trail debris from hitching a ride.
Right now you don’t have to pay full price to keep your feet dry. They are currently slashed by 30% right now on Nike.com, bringing the price down from the usual $180. Just a heads up: they tend to fit a bit small, so do yourself a favor and order a half-size up.
See you on the trails.
