Real Or Fake? How To Know You’re Buying Legit Pit Viper Sunglasses

via Pit Viper

A couple weeks ago, I decided to upgrade my sunglasses game with a new pair of Pit Viper sunglasses. With summer just around the corner, I wanted to give Pit Vipers a try for their “optimal blend of style and performance.”

If you’re not familiar, Pit Vipers have exploded in popularity over the past four years for a great reason – they’re ’80s wrestler badass.

I bought the polarized Pit Viper 2000s – I dig how the ultra wide polarized shades frame my tubby werewolf face.

After I bought my real Pit Vipers, however, I couldn’t help but notice how many fake Pit Vipers there are on the market. I was getting ads left and right for bootlegs, oftentimes being promoted on some of the world’s largest e-commerce websites and social media platforms.

These are bush league sunglasses that lack real Pit Viper’s commitment to comfort, quality, and greatness – a scourge to those of us who rock our Pit Vipers loud and proud.

After extensive research and talking to the folks at Pit Viper, I put together an Experts Only guide to making sure you’re buying 100% real Pit Vipers.

Accept no imitations – learn to spot fake Pit Vipers in the wild.

#1. This is what a real Pit Viper Ad looks like:

Notice the domain?

PitViperSunglasses.com

#2. Before you buy Pit Vipers, look at the URL!

Pit Viper doesn’t sell on Amazon. So if someone is claiming to sell Pit Vipers on Amazon.com, it’s a fake. Don’t do it.

Amazon = Fake Pit Vipers

If you saw an ad on Facebook or Snapchat, look at the URL of the store to make sure it’s legit. Stores selling fake Pit Viper sunglasses often have funky URLs: PitV1P3R69.com probably isn’t going to be legit.

Are you about to buy a pair of Pit Viper Sunglasses from a website that isn’t PitViperSunglasses.com?

Don’t do that.

Go to PitViperSunglasses.com.

It’s the only place to buy authentic Pit Viper sunglasses

#3. Look for a UPC code on the box

Already bought them? Or buying / trading on a platform like Craigslist, Facebook Marketplace, or Poshmark?

Real Pit Viper sunglasses come in a box that’s Pit Viper branded, with a shipping label on the box itself. Real Pit Vipers have a UGC code on the bottom of the box when you get them. They’re in the shape of sunglasses. Because real companies have need real solutions for proper inventory management, not the poseurs.

This is what it looks like:

#4. Model number

This is a key detail. Real Pit Vipers have a model number printed on the inside right of the frames, towards the rubber cushioned ear rest. Fakes don’t have a model number in that position.

No excuse for fakes. Fight the war on fakes, keep things au naturale.
