Redemption Whiskey Barrel Proof Selections

I was lucky enough to get my hands on Redemption Whiskey’s latest 9 and 10-Year-Old Barrel Proof Selections and dudes, run don’t walk to pick these up. This has been a particularly good year for Rye Whiskey releases and their Barrel Proof Rye ($99) exceeded my expectations by far. It’s a 95% Rye / 5% Malted Barley expression that clocks in at 116.2 proof and is aged for 10 years. My first thought when tasting this expression was the sweet balance of banana and caramel in Banana’s Fosters dessert.
The Redemption Barrel Proof High Rye Bourbon has a ‘spicy rye backbone’ of 60% corn, 36% rye, and 4% malted barley. This expression is also aged 10 years and clocks in at 114.4 proof with a dark gold color and an aroma of rich vanilla. On the tongue, you’ll find strong notes of toffee and honey.
The third bottle is the Redemption Barrel Proof Bourbon which is a blend of 75% Corn, 21% Rye, and 4% Malted Barley which is aged for 9 years and comes together at 105.7 proof. I sipped this one straight out of the bottle without ice or water and it was a perfect Turkey Day appetizer with an aroma of Madagascan Vanilla Bean, Coffee, and Caramel. It has a little smokey bacon on the tongue with a smooth finish.

So, here’s where we’re at: I’m now a Philips Hue stan and I’m having trouble remembering what my TV life was like before I got the Play Light Bar Double Pack.
