Everyone else has been casually drinking their way through various distillery’s collectoins during this time of isolation, right? I’m not alone? I wanted to show you guys the slate of Old Forester Whiskeys that I started sampling recently. I’ll be honest, tasting this much whiskey is hard work but someone has to do it and I’m willing to fall on that sword for you gentlemen. From left to right, the first bottle is the Old Forester 1870 Original Batch Bourbon which won a gold medal at the 2019 Whiskies of the World competition. It carries balanced flavor of clove, cinnamon, nutmeg, and citrus. The 1897 Bottled in Bond Bourbon captured a Silver Medal at the presitigous 2020 San Francisco World Spirits Competition. This has a finish of spice, caramel, deep fruit, and vanilla that lingers in a way that you never want to end. The 1910 Old Fine Whisky is a bonafide top-shelf award-winning expression. It has a nose of sticky toffee, apricot, and cedar with milk chocolate and oatmeal raising cookie notes on the tongue. The staple in my diet that I miss the most from life before March is Nitro Cold Brew Coffee.
