YETI Announces New And Redesigned Soft Coolers, Just In The Time For The Holiday Season

I love my big rotomolded hard coolers. I have a couple of them and I always go out of my way to use them when I need to keep something cold for the long haul.

But what about the short haul? It’s no fun to lug around a heavy cooler just to carry around a lunch or a little after-hiking snack. That’s where a soft cooler like the YETI Hopper line steps to the plate.

It’s a big news day in the world of cooler innovation.

YETI just announced an update in the Hopper line, introducing a new and improved version of the M20 Soft Backpack Cooler. This rugged soft cooler fits 36 cans or 22 lbs of ice, meaning there’s enough hauling capcity for you and the crew. YETI released a smaller version too: The M12 Soft Backpack cooler, designed to help you lug around up to 20 cans or 12lbs of ice.

YETI also released a M15 Soft Cooler – a convenient tote that fits 32 cans or 15 lbs of ice. They also rereleased the Yeti Hopper M30, a crowd favorite that fits 42 cans, 32 lbs of ice, or 13 wine bottles. YETI completely reengineered the M15 and M30’s Magshield Access after a safety issue that lead to a recall earlier this year. It now stays open – a huge complaint on previous versions. It now closes with a “gentle touch” according to the brand.

This is obviously a strategic launch and relaunch heading into the holiday season. YETI coolers make a great gift and there’s only so much room in the garage for hard coolers. But cooler backpacks? You never know when you need one or three, depending on the adventure.
